My Thanks to Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood

Kent and I must thank Nikki Fink for bothering to mention our teaser/trailer for our new screenplay “Hollywood Knights.”  I enjoy reading all the atta-boy’s and all the “come up with something original, you *expletive douchebags” comments.  They are all welcome.  PT Barnum once said the only bad publicity is your obituary.  I think he’s more correct than ever now that the internet age is in full swing.

I can probably put a halt to some of the comments by saying I KNOW THERE ARE SOME SIMILAR SCRIPTS floating around.  But I wrote the outline for this damned story with Derek Stucker back in 2002 (and can prove it if necessary) and have just gotten sidetracked by other things over the years and finally decided to finish it up, purposely NOT scouring the trades to see if there were any similar ideas out there.  Actually “Roundtable” which apparently sold back in 2008 is REALLY CLOSE to ours.  I’d love to read that one.  Because it’s apparently a case of great minds thinking alike — unless they were privy to my personal emails, hmm….

Another script that appeared in Black List or on some black list, not sure if that’s a book or what, but it seemed similar, occurs in a modern-day setting if I am not mistaken.  Ours is mostly Medieval.

So keep the insults, and pats on the back coming.  I love it!

Redge is right. It’s the Bataan Death March of awards shows.

One of the highest honors of the land, the Empire, and for you it means quicker crevattes and shagging with less pesky conversation. What a clever boy. What a nice little extra shove down the shit-hole for what was once a great civilization.

Kent Conrad talks about the Screenplay for Hollywood Knights.

What do you do when….

…you wrote a pretty damned good screenplay, and no one wants to read it?  Happens to us all the time.  Fine, it’s not based on previously existing material.  Not a comic book or a video game, so none of the studios are looking for anything “risky” like Hollywood Knights.  Well, we just need one big agent or producer, actor, director to give this one a read, and give it the green light.  Maybe you can help us.  If you like what you see about our screenplay for Hollywood Knights on this blog, and you know someone who’s got green-light power, hook us up!  If you want to read the script, or give it to one of these powerful and influential people, then send me (Dave) an email at smashzoom@yahoo.com.  We won’t forget you, Mr. or Mrs. Associate Producer……”Boat drinks”

This is a great screenplay, who can we get to rewrite it?
